Inspiring Front Door Makeover

Nov 29, 2022

Take a good look at your front door. See any cracks or scratches? Is the paint peeling? Do you find yourself struggling with the handle each time you try to open it? It might be time for a new one.

This Ohio homeowner was experiencing all of these issues and more with her front doors of more than 20 years. In desperate need of an upgrade, she turned to Clopay.

“We knew we couldn’t wait any longer when the entry door handles stopped working and the wood began to split,” she said.

Using our Door Imagination System to narrow down her choices, she chose to replace her aging door with our Rustic fiberglass front door.

“I loved using the Door Imagination System because it gave me the confidence that we chose the right door for our home. We didn’t have to second-guess our decision,” she said.

Unlike wood or steel entry doors, our insulated Rustic fiberglass doors not only provide increased energy efficiency but won’t rust, crack or split.

“Now that we have a new door, it’s nice to know that it will function optimally and can prevent water from damaging the interior of our home,” she said.

To improve the security of her door, the homeowner also chose to install our Multi-Point Locking System that provides three secure locking points at the top, middle and bottom edge of the door. One turn of the deadbolt thumb activates all three points to secure the door and increase a homeowner's peace of mind.

This system also increases the energy efficiency of Clopay entry doors by allowing the door to close tightly against its weather stripping. The homeowner finds this system to be one of her favorite things about her new entry door.

“The new door feels solid and secure, and I like how it will be more energy efficient than our last door,” she said.

In addition to safety and energy efficiency, the homeowner also had curb appeal at the top of her wish list for a new entry door.

“I’m glad we didn’t overlook the importance of choosing the proper hardware for our new entry door,” she said. “The features needed to match the interior and exterior of our home. We had to consider details coordinating with molding/trim color, matching hardware to other metal fixtures and whether or not we wanted to paint or stain the interior of our entry door.”

For those looking to replace their aging front doors, this homeowner recommends to get started.

“If you have the option, don’t put off the upgrade. Many choose to upgrade their doors before selling their homes and never enjoy the transformation. Homeowners should enjoy this investment."
